THE PECULIARITIES OF THE CLINICAL COURSE AND TREATMENT OF VARICELLA ZOSTER KERATITIS
Drozhzhina G. I., Gaidamaka T. B.
Odessa, Ukraine
The work gives literature data and the authors' own observations, which illustrate the peculiarities of the clinical course and treatment of the ocular herpes zoster.
The authors showed that the development of ocular herpes zoster with the affection of the fifth pair of the craniocerebral nerves developed in (8.7±SD9.8) days after skin manifestations; therefore it is necessary together with the systemic antiviral therapy to administer preventively the ocular antiherpetic medicinal substances in this localization of the disease. In affection of the eye with herpes-zoster there is noted reduction in the cornea sensitivity in 83.3 % of patients, reduction in tear production — in 100 %, neurotrophic keratopathy — in 58.3 % of patients, which specifies the need for the means, which improve trophicity of tissues locally and systematically as well as the drugs with the antiherpetic and antiinflammatory preparations.
