«Ab interno» trabeculectomy with the use of the operating system «Trabectome» allows to low IOP by 21.5 % during the follow-up of (173 ± 170.2) days after surgery in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma. The mechanism of hypotensive effect of this type of operation is associated with microinvasive ablation of the trabecula tissue as the main cause for resistance to outflow of the intraocular fluid. The advantage of this surgical procedure is also possibility to use the same corneal incision for trabeculectomy and phacoemulsification.
