Possibilities of application of diagnostic coefficients of clinical and cytolofical signs for making a differential diagnosis of benign and malignant melanocytic and epithelial neoplasms of the conjunctiva were studied. It is shown that application only a DC of clinical signs determines wide enough zone of uncertain diagnosis. Introduction of Valds SDC of cytologic signs of melanocytic tumours in the consecitive diagnostic procedure has allowed to decrease statistically significantly (p = 0.00) from 24 (33.8%) up to 2 (2.8%) frequency of cases of uncertain diagnosis compared with the data of clinical course and to increase frequency of cases of confident diagnosis from 38 (53.5%) up to 58 (81.7%) of benign neoplasms (nevus) and to identify two cases of melanoma which are clinically determined as malignant nevus that provided 100.0% detection of melanomas. In epithelial tumours frequency of cases of uncertain diagnostics from 13 (26.5%) up to 5 (10.2%) decreased statistically significantly (p = 0.03).
