Immunologic peculiarity of dynamics of Staphylococcus aureus endophthalmitis in experimental study with using antibacterial photodynamic therapy with methelene blue in combination with intravitreal injection of antibiotic

Introduction. The study of immune response dynamics in case of experimental Staphylococcus aureus endophthalmitis is very actual.

Purpose: to analyse the dynamics of general and local immune response of rabbits with staphylococcus aureus entophthalmitis with the using of antibacterial photho-dynamic therapy (APDT) with 0,1 % methylene blue, which was combined with intravitreal injection of 1,0 mg Vancomycin.

Material and methods: in the experimental study three groups (30 rabbits in each group) of rabbits are presented: I — without using any treatment (the control) , II — using intravitreal Vancomycin and III — using APDT with 0.1 % methylene blue and intravitreal Vancomycin.

Results: in the group III normalization of all data of general and local immunity became on day 7, unlike in group II (on day 21) and in group I (does not become the normal).

Conclusions: using of APDT with 0,1 % methylene blue in combination with intra-vitreal injection of 1,0 mg Vancomycin leads to the rapid normalization of data of immune response.
