PREVENTION OF THE POSTOPERATIVE MACULAR EDEMA IN PATIENTS AFTER PHACOEMULSIFICATION OF CATARACT

The effect of Clodifen (diclofenac sodium) in the postoperative period after phakoemulsification of cataract was investigated by 31 patient of the basic group (32 eyes).
Diclofenac sodium (Clodifen, World Medicine) as eye drops was used during 3 months after the operation. The application of Clodifen considerably reduces the risk of postoperative macular edema, preserves acuity of vision after the operation, decreases the retina thickness and development of dystrophic changes in the macular area in the long-term period.
