MORPHOLOGIC PECULIARITIES OF HEALING OF THE EXPERIMENTAL CORNEAL PURULENT ULCER IN APPLICATION OF THE THERAPEUTIC-TECTONIC KERATOPLASTY WITH AUTOSCLERAL FLAPS

The experimental study was made to investigate the application of the autoscleral flaps in treatment of corneal purulent ulcers.

The results of histological studies of the eyes of the rabbits having undergone the therapeutic-tectonic keratoplasty with autoscleral flaps in modeled corneal purulent ulcer revealed participation of the vascularized autoscleral transplants in inhibition of the infectious process, inflammation, resorption of the necrotic masses and tissue detritus from the ulcer surface as well as participation of scleral fibroblasts along with corneal keratoblasts in regeneration of the corneal tissue defect.

There was also established a therapeutic effect of the transplant on the surrounding cornea.
