METHOD OF CONJUNCTIVODACRYOCYSTORHINOSTOMY (LACOCYSTORHINOSTOMY) IN PATIENTS WITH OBLITERATION OF THE LACRIMAL TUBULES AND NASOLACRIMAL DUCT DUE TO INFLAMMATION OR TRAUMA

The novelty of the method of conjunctivodacryocystorhinostomy (lacocystorhinostomy) consists in the fact that the conjunctiva is dissected cross-shaped in the region of the lacrimal lake and mucous sac in the region of the orifice with displacement of the leaves received by 45° clockwise. The leaves of the conjunctiva and mucous sac are separated from the underlying tissues. The tunnel between the internal conjunctival arc and the cavity of the sac is formed with the aid of the trepan. The diameter of the tunnel is formed taking into account the thickness of tissues between the internal conjunctival arc and the sac. The leaves of the conjunctiva and mucous sac are turned up to the side of the tunnel produced by the trepan with the subsequent fixation of their apexes in the corners between the leaves.
The results of surgical treatment employing the procedure proposed showed that it was possible to restore completely tear diversion in all patients.
