As the Director of State Institution «The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of NAMS of Ukraine” continues to develop these areas in clinical and scientific work (fluorescent angiography, optical coherence tomography, transpupillary thermotherapy, photodynamic therapy, diagnostic of fundus pathology using infrared radiation, combined (laser and surgery) treatment of diseases of the retina and choroid). One of the priority areas is developing a bioequivalent of the cornea and searching for new materials for biological corneal coating, also using the latest technology of genetic engineering. Researching methods for high-frequency welding of biological tissues in ophthalmology is also of great importance. First in Ukraine Nataliya Pasyechnikova introduced transpupillary thermotherapy and retinopathy of prematurity. She initiated the emergency to children with retinopathy of prematurity in Ukraine.
