A corresponding member of NAMS of Ukraine, DM, Professor, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, one of the most prominent scientists in the field of ophthalmology. Graduated from Kyiv Medical Institute, Nataliya Pasyechnikova worked in polyclinic service, Kiev Trauma Center, and as an assistant at the Department of Ophthalmology at Kiev Medical Institute. She was actively involved in the introduction of the intraocular lenses implantation in Ukraine. As the Head of the Laser Department of Kiev Ophthalmic Clinic “Eye Microsurgery Center” she actively developed current trends of retinology (development of new diagnosis and treatment methods for diseases of the retina and choroid of different etiology, development of new laser treatment). As the Director of State Institution «The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of NAMS of Ukraine” continues to develop these areas in clinical and scientific work (fluorescent angiography, optical coherence tomography, transpupillary thermotherapy, photodynamic therapy, diagnostic of fundus pathology using infrared radiation, combined (laser and surgery) treatment of diseases of the retina and choroid). One of the priority areas is developing a bioequivalent of the cornea and searching for new materials for biological corneal coating, also using the latest technology of genetic engineering. Researching methods for high-frequency welding of biological tissues in ophthalmology is also of great importance. First in Ukraine Nataliya Pasyechnikova introduced transpupillary thermotherapy and retinopathy of prematurity. She initiated the emergency to children with retinopathy of prematurity in Ukraine. She is the author of 5 monographs, about 250 scientific papers, and 31 patents.
Professor, MD, Deputy Director of State Institution «The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of NAMS of Ukraine”. He graduated from Odessa Medical Institute. Main activities are pathomorphology, immunology of eye diseases, the current methods of biopsy material processing and microscopic examination of biopsy samples obtained from surgeries performed in the Filatov Institute and in different regions of Ukraine and CIS. He published 4 monographs, about 180 scientific papers.
MD. She graduated from Odessa Medical Institute. Main activities are ophthalmooncology, inflammatory and tumor lacrimal gland lesions, eyelid plastic surgery, lacrimal and conjunctival cavity surgery, and treatment of endocrine ophthalmopathy.
Professor, MD, Honored Scientist of Ukraine, Head of Pediatric Ophthalmology Department of State Institution «The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of NAMS of Ukraine” She graduated from Odessa Medical Institute. Main activities are pediatric ophthalmology, anterior segment microsurgery, new methods of surgery for congenital and acquired cataracts with IOL implantation, congenital and secondary glaucoma, reconstructive surgery for trauma, corneal transplantation, iris plastic surgery, management of intraocular foreign bodies, and vitrectomy for hemophthalmia and uveitis. She is the author of 4 monographs, about 600 scientific papers.
MD, Honored Scientist of Ukraine, a senior researcher
at the Department of Ophthalmoendocrinology and Microsurgical Treatment of
Glaucoma in the Filatov Institute. She graduated from Odessa Medical Institute.
She develops glaucoma clinic and treatment in patients with diabetes; she
offered a new concept of the pathogenesis of open-angle glaucoma and developed
a new line – “ophthalmoendocrinology”. She is the author of 4 monographs, about
300 scientific papers.
MD, Head of the Laboratory of Medical and Technical Developments in the
Filatov Institute. He graduated from Odessa Medical Institute. Main activities
are optometry, diagnosis and treatment of complex sensory and motor disorders
of binocular vision, correction of refractive errors, development of new
technologies, methods and devices for the diagnosis of visual function. He is
the author of about 150 papers.
Professor, MD, a senior researcher at the Laboratory of Pathology, Electron Microscopy and Tissue Preservation in the Filatov Institute. He is the author of 3 books.
Professor, MD, Head of the Laboratory of Functional Research Methods of the Eye. He graduated from Odessa Medical Institute. He developed a new trend in ophthalmology – “vegetative ophthalmology”, developed a unique set of diagnostic techniques for the early diagnosis of preclinical pathology of the visual analyzer, a number of diagnostic and therapeutic ophthalmic stimulants like “phosphorylation”, which are widely implemented in clinical practice. He is the author of 2 monographs, over 260 scientific papers, and 10 patents.
Professor, MD, Head of the Department of Eye Burns, Plastic Surgery, Keratoplasty and Keratoprosthesis in the Filatov Institute. He graduated from Ternopil Medical Institute. He is a winner of the Filatov Prize of Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR. He is the author of 2 monographs, over 200 scientific papers, and 12 patents. Main activities are eye burns, keratoprosthesis, corneal transplantation, secondary glaucoma, plastic surgery, diseases of the lacrimal passages.
